Slow going

I love my Fire Storm drill and my trusty old hammer.  I couldn't put down quarter round without them.

We have an old desk that has been in our storage building for 30 years.  I had Poppa bring it in last year and I'm just now getting around to painting it.  Here it is before I started painting on it last week...



and here it is after a coat of WalMart's Latex Semi Gloss Country White paint.

It's amazing the difference a coat of paint makes.

This file cabinet was in my closet and hard to get to in order to file any thing.

If not now, when?

I bought a sculpting DVD a couple of years ago.  About three months ago, I finally took time to watch a few minutes of it.  Today, I am looking for the DVD and I can't find it....any where.  I am tired of spending most of my time looking for stuff.  It is time to get organized and I mean organized.  It's time for a makeover!

Studio-Nest Makeover Project

I am tired of spending most of my time looking for stuff.  Enough is enough!  So, even with an injured leg, I am starting on my Studio-Nest makeover.  I am going to start in this corner.  I've got to start somewhere and this is as good a place as any.

Here's my check list.  This should take me about six months!!

√  Move every thing out of this corner

√  Clean the windows and blinds

√  Cut quarter round for baseboards.

√  Caulk around door and molding in corner

√  Paint quarter round molding and nail in place

√ Take every thing off of desk

√  Move the desk

√  Paint desk

√  Bring in a filing cabinet from closet

√  Paint filing cabinet

√  Move everything off of tredle sewing machine table

√  Move tredle sewing machine table

Set up video equipment for recording doll tutorials

Set up TV, DVD, VCR, VHS

A Work of Art...

Recent health issues made us rethink getting rid of our old fiberglas tub and installing an easy access custom made cultured marble shower. This cultured marble is made from Texas limestone and is a work of art from the hands of the folks at THE MARBLE SHOP in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Owner Larry Layton and his crew did a beautiful job and created a masterpiece of simplistic elegance.

Here are before and after pictures of the project.  Our new shower is much more spacious and we love it!

Removing the tub and leaving studs and plumbing exposed

All marked up and ready for the plumber to move the drain.

Inspection time by Sassy, who by the way kept picking up every thing that was not nailed down.  She is a good housekeeper!

 The drain was moved to the center of the shower and the new plumbing was installed.

 Next, the moisture barrier sheet rock went up along with some cultured marble backing around where the shower floor goes.  I love this non slip shower floor that's waiting for a drain cover

 And finally after much hand fitting, we have a beautiful shower masterpiece!

This shower is so much bigger than our bathtub and it will be much easier to give the dogs a bath.  No more bending over a tub and having to pick up our thirty pound Toby to put him in the tub.  Sassy likes to swin in the pond but won't get in the shower for a bath...yet...but we see little dirty foot prints in there when we are finished so we know she is curious.  It's just a matter of time. A new diverter is coming for our new hand held shower that will finish this project.
